The main objective of German Crusaders, along with and a proud member of the German-American League, is to preserve and promote our German heritage, customs and traditions.

German Crusaders was founded by supporting our local Huntington Beach community service organizations such as the Kiwanis Club, as well as our local non-denominational Christian church, Old World Church (located in Old World Village across from German Deli Market and Biergarten Restaurant). We also work closely with German School Campus on their annual special events. Additionally, we co-host and provide support to Old World Biergarten on multiple popular festivals held year round, such as Maifest, German Heritage Day, Danube-Swabian Day, Plum Fest, Oktoberfest, and German Unification Day.

Plum Fest is an annual tradition held annually in honor of Bernie and Cyndie’s grandmother, Oma Elly MacGee and their mother, Dolores Bischof, First Lady and CoFounder of Old World Village. Bernie and Cyndie are President and Vice President of German Crusaders.

As of 2025, German Crusaders is happy to announce that, after having been non-operational for several years, Old World Church will once again be available for weddings and any other sacred celebrations. The banquet room below the chapel will also again be available for receptions and meetings.
